When the winter gets cold I guess I'll need someone to hold And this time she wont be one to break my heart cos what I can recall from the summer and the fall are just colors turned to find me on my knees And Maybe she'll tell me she wont ever leave or maybe she'll just stay until the spring I'm just scared of whats coming but I hate the things i've got its more than just the seasons changing sides but the rag apple blossoms don't keep falling on me now I'm better than I was when I came down And maybe she'll tell me she wont ever leave or maybe she'll just stay until the spring

Little Birds 02:54
Cos I miss you even more every time you come to mind it happens less with time it happens less with time and i want you even more every time your on my mind but this time you're not mine yeah these days you're not mine But birds can't nest when winds are changing winter draws them south with time and trees can't shelter out of season birds who've lost their peace of mind. yeah these mornings tend to bring different memories to my mind they used to make me smile you used to make me smile and each song i write reminds me of other simpler times like days when you were mine those days when you were mine But birds can't nest when winds are changing winter draws them south with time and trees can't shelter out of season birds who've lost their peace of mind. so pack up all your bags and take each sunset in your stride i'll be here killing time just watching birds pass by and i'll think of you each time a certain starling sings her line she sings of days that passed me by these days keep passing by
3.
Catch a cup of coffee with me any time of day and tell me how you didn't want it to be this way tell me why its wrong to want one person to yourself and tell me why you're never gonna stay But it kills me every time you touch his face kills me every time you kiss his mouth I pretend that I don't know But who am I fooling cos I know what you do when you leave town Roll over in the morning and tell me exactly how you're feeling its always so much different than the night before there's always someone else who you are also scared of losing I'm just another body on your killing floor. But it kills me every time you touch his face kills me every time you kiss his mouth I pretend that I don't know But who am I fooling cos I know what you do when you leave town
4.
I Want You 02:59
Everybody thinks its true they think i'm going out with you but i don't know what you've got on your mind Do you want me like I am a steady friend with a steady hand whose always there to catch you when you fall I don't know what i should want but I'm pretty sure that its what I'd want cos i want you if you want me I guess I'm on a losing streak you little girls have got me beat and i don't know just how to take it in stride All you girls are all the same you keep me playing guessing games when i just want to be with you tonight I don't know what i should want but I'm pretty sure that its what I'd want cos i want you if you want me

about

After a two year hiatus Jonathan Ammons returns to release his new EP and first solo release in six years, "Swinging for the Fences". An EP recorded in five different states over the course of four years. Brandishing a band of veteran Asheville musicians as well as some from Nashville and St. Louis, Ammons brings a brand new set of old-school country tunes. Raw and natural, "Swinging for the Fences", his fourth record, might be Ammons' most brutally honest record to date.
